Application [Denied]

Postby tokenlore » Sat Mar 13, 2010 10:33 pm

App1.) Personal Information
a. Age: 41
b. Time zone: PST

2.) Character
a. Character name:Tokenlore
b. Character class:Warrior
c. Spec/Dual spec:Yes
d. Professions:Mining/Blacksmith
e. Current realm:Eonar
f. Armory link:http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Eonar&cn=Tokenlore

3.) Connection
a. What is your average FPS?30-50
b. What is your average latency - be specific?140-190
c. How stable is your connection - again, be specific?FIOS, very stable

4.) What potions/food would you typically bring to a raid?Little (since I can not make), though I ask for none.

5.) Do you have/use Ventrilo? Do you have a mic and are able to use it? Yes

6.) Infallible is a raiding guild that raids four nights a week (currently: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 7:30PM to 12PM Server Time). Are you available for all those days? If not, what is your raiding schedule? Please keep in mind, 100% attendance is not required, but the more days you're available for, the better.I am typically on around 10-11pm PST weekdays and weekends about the same, though online until much later. I rarely need roll on anything without talking it over with other guild members. I am not a greedy player, I also need nor request any bank access.

7.) List any notable WWS or WMO parses, combat logs, or anything that would be indicative of your performance in raids. A screenshot of a damage meter is not a parse. To be honest, don't know how. I do typically in a herioc dungeon no less than 3k and as high as 4.5 or higher depending on the buffs. I am no idler, I work hard in an instance, pay attention and have tweaked my character for max damage. If you are not satisfied with my dps on the first run, I would be willing to leave voluntarily without bothering you further.
** IF YOU DO NOT POST A PARSE, WE WILL NOT CONSIDER YOUR APPLICATION. NO EXCEPTIONS **

8.) List all of your previous guilds and the reasons why you have left/are leaving them. Jaded Souls (been with them since meridian 59 (yes I am a bit dated in age), they pretty much disbanded for the most part over the many years), The Sacred Order (was founded not too long after JS disbanded), left because I left game about 2+ years ago, came back and guild is no longer active (I did not leave my character in after I left). Currently in Knights ofthe Round Table, leaving because membership is low, I was brought in by a friend and am looking for something more active. They are all east coast time, rarely on anything outside 2-3 hours per night so I miss most the action. I have been gaming in games since text mud days (and since then under this same character name).

9.) What do you expect from us, and what should we expect from you? I would expect opportunity to prove myself a valuable team player. You can expect nothing from me short of a good personality, hard player when I am on as well as willing to help others out.

10.) Please post a screen shot or a link to your average raiding UI. Since I have done little, my UI consists of Recount and a basic 4 bar layout. I am a fury warrior, there is little to my setup. I do run cleave (which is out of the norm), but if you give me a chance, you will not be dissapointed. I am as well, open to input.

11.) Do you have all of the addons we require downloaded? These addons include: Ora2 (or equivalent), Deadly Boss Mods (or equivalent), Omen Threat Meter, Class-specific addons (such as Pally Power). Nope, but I know how to install the add-ons that you are asking for.

12.) Describe your previous raiding experiences. Please be as detailed as possible as to what bosses you have downed and have worked on, as well as any notable achievements you've done in heroic and non-heroic raids. Pre-WotLK experience is also noteworthy. Right now in WOW (since coming back to the game) I have only been as high as 1 10 man raid. I was number 2 in overall damage and top 4 for DPS (bouncing around between 2nd and 4th).

13.) Would you be comfortable with changing your spec/dual spec for the better of the guild, and raiding with that spec/dual spec? I am open to suggested layouts, my tank set sucks quick frankly but the second spec I am completely open to. The main spec is my own layout, I am always looking for improvements; however, the last 4 months I have spent fine tuning it. I spend a lot of time working out numbers. Keep in mind that I have only 1 character, I do not spend time leveling up other toons. I make the most of the one I have.

14.) What is your dps/hps/tps rotation/priority? Do you keep up to date with new theorycrafting and are you open to criticism from others? Yes, always open to suggestion. I typically open with a cleave (takes me into combat when I have rage, if not, it is opened as soon as rage is available), I will run with whirlwind, cleave and toss in bloodthirs, when rage has exceeded what those abilities can burn I will dump in herioc strike. I always keep recklessness and death wish going. My talent spec allows for max rage generation, I find more important than others; this is what generates my solid DPS with only 2600 rounded up, gear score. In a good fight, I will have cleave swinging as much as possible (with wind fury totem, it will be going out constant).

15.) How did you hear about Infallible? Reading on forums, your guild comes up quite often, after that I checked out your wow armory information and then inquired with a guild member online about your website and how to apply.

16.) Add your own question for us here. The only question I would have is if you would be okay with what is clearly a part time player? I typically only play about 10-15 hours per week. I do work hard when I am online and as posted above, you will not catch me idling in a group milking along the encounters.

Application denied. I don't even know where to begin with this one - your gear, experience, and skill are well below our standards for raiding. We're a fucking top 25 US guild, what the hell do you people think sometimes?
How many times have you picked up the phone at your house and someone you've never seen before barks a command: "Stand over there!" and then dresses you down when you do not comply correctly or quickly enough? Never. It doesnt happen. Ask all your friends, its never happened to them or anyone they know. But guess what? Thats raiding.

Given that I was looking for a guild not a juvenile elitest group, clearly I have made a mistake in judgement as to which guild to apply for. As to skill, the fact that you attempt to judge such a thing with the limited information at hand clearly indicates what you do not know.

Accept my appologies for wasting both our time.
